Southampton Football Club have confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward Victor Udoh, just eight months after his arrival at St Mary’s.
Udoh, 20, signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Saints in January following a move from Belgian side Royal Antwerp. Since joining, he featured seven times for the club’s Under-21s, netting two goals and providing one assist.
The club announced that Udoh’s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement, citing the player’s desire to pursue more regular senior football as the driving factor behind the decision. Both parties agreed that the move would benefit Udoh’s career development in the long run.
A club spokesperson thanked Udoh for his contributions and wished him success in the next chapter of his career.
