Urgent Appeal to Find Missing Southampton Teenager Who May Be in Leeds
Police have launched an urgent appeal to locate a missing 14-year-old boy from Southampton who may have travelled more than 250 miles north to Leeds.
Enzo, whose surname is being withheld, was last seen at his home on Wednesday, January 10, when he failed to attend school, sparking immediate concerns for his welfare.
The teenager is described as black, approximately 6ft tall, with a slim build and distinctive short plaits. Police have not disclosed what clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.
Officers have been conducting extensive enquiries since he was reported missing, and investigators now believe he may have made his way to the Leeds area in West Yorkshire.
Inspector James Harris of Hampshire Police said: “Enzo’s family are extremely worried about him, and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. We are urging anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts to contact us immediately.”
The appeal comes as missing persons charities report that approximately 80,000 children go missing in the UK each year, with many cases involving teenagers travelling significant distances from their homes.
Members of the public who have any information about Enzo’s whereabouts are urged to contact the police immediately. Those wishing to remain anonymous can also provide information through independent charity Missing People by calling or texting 116 000.
Police stressed that any information, no matter how insignificant it might seem, could be crucial in helping to locate Enzo and ensure his safe return home.
