Southampton Police are investigating a violent incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at one of Southampton’s prominent nightspots, resulting in one injury and one arrest.
The altercation took place at approximately 1:25 AM on Sunday, December 15, at Café Parfait, a nightclub located on Above Bar Street in Southampton’s city center. According to police reports, two men became involved in a confrontation on the dance floor, leading to one sustaining injuries.
A 24-year-old man suffered a laceration to his head during the incident. Police have already made progress in their investigation, with a 25-year-old man being taken into custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The incident occurred during what was advertised as a “Saturday Funday” multi-room party event at the establishment, which typically operates as one of Southampton’s most popular nightclub destinations.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Thompson of Hampshire Police said, “We are appealing to anyone who was present at Café Parfait during the early hours of Sunday morning. Witnesses who may have seen the altercation or have any information about the circumstances leading up to it are urged to come forward.”
