Southampton City Council announce parking charge hike

Southampton council has announced on-road parking charges across 44 city centre roads will increase in price from September 30th 2024.

The increased charges are set to hit shoppers and workers in the city centre with increased charges at The High Street, Oxford Street, Bedford Place, London Road and Commercial Road. The new charges will see drivers have to pay an extra 30 pence for an hour and extra 50p for four hours.

Unlike London there is no free parking in Southampton on Sundays or on Bank Holidays.
