Storage on Site, founded in Southampton in 2007 has announced a major expansion with the opening of a brand-new, three-acre site in Marchwood. The investment sees the business add two purpose-built hangars, a high-specification paint bay, and upgraded safety systems, all designed to support its rapidly growing hire fleet creating more jobs for the local area.
The new facility brings a fully enclosed, ventilated paint bay—enabling all-weather spraying and boosting productivity. There’s also a dedicated COSHH store to ensure materials are handled both safely and in line with regulations. Next to the paint bay sits a second hangar, now fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting, for prepping cabins heading out to and returning from sites across the region.
Neil Vickery, Managing Director, said: “This new site is a huge leap forward for us, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team. The expansion isn’t just about more space or new buildings—it’s about how we’re evolving as a business. Every decision has been about improving our service and creating a safer, more efficient environment for our people. It’s a very exciting time for Storage on Site.”
The extended yard centralises Storage on Site’s hire fleet—including cabins, containers, staircases, and tanks of all sizes—allowing for quicker turnarounds and tighter operational control. Day-to-day operations at the new site will be overseen by supervisors Mark Goodship and Deon Schroven.
Director Pete Vickery added: “We’ve come a long way since the early days, and it’s all down to the support of our customers, our partners, and the hard work of our team.”
This expansion marks another step in Storage on Site’s ongoing commitment to quality, investment, and growth, with a continued focus on upgrading its fleet, facilities, and staff. It’s great to see independent local businesses expanding in Southampton, providing more jobs for local area and bringing prosperity.
