Southampton police have launched a public appeal for information following a violent incident at a city center retail store earlier this month.
Police are seeking to identify two individuals in connection with an assault that took place at the Primark store on Above Bar Street. The incident, which occurred around 2:45 PM on Friday, January 10, left two shoppers injured.
According to police reports, a woman in her 50s and an elderly man in his 70s were attacked inside the store. The female victim sustained minor injuries to her face and back, while the male victim suffered chest injuries that required hospital treatment. Both victims have since been discharged and are recovering at home.
Investigators have released surveillance images of two persons of interest who were present in the area at the time of the assault. Police believe these individuals may hold crucial information that could assist with their ongoing investigation.
“We are urging anyone who recognizes these individuals or who was present in Primark during the incident to come forward,” said a spokesperson for Southampton Police. “Your information, no matter how small it might seem, could be vital to our investigation.”
