Police are appealing for witnesses after a violent road-related incident in Southampton left two people with minor injuries and caused significant damage to vehicles.
The incident occurred at around 2:15pm on Friday, 26 September, on Firgrove Road. Officers received reports of an altercation involving the drivers of a Ford Transit and a Mazda 6. According to police, the driver of the Ford Transit, a man in his 40s, was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
Following the assault, it is alleged that the Mazda was deliberately driven into the Ford, causing substantial damage, before fleeing the scene via Paynes Road and overtaking stationary traffic at the junction with Shirley Road.
Police officers attended the scene and attempted to stop the Mazda. The suspect vehicle then collided with a police car twice before making off. The attending officer suffered minor injuries but was able to remain on duty.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 20 and 30, of large build, with brown hair.
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage, to come forward.
