Hampshire Police are appealing to residents in Eastleigh and Southampton for help identifying a man they wish to speak to in connection with a reported sexual assault on Baddesley Road, Chandler’s Ford.
The incident took place at the junction with Beechwood Crescent between 3.40pm and 3.50pm on Tuesday, 26 August. A teenage girl reported being inappropriately touched by an unknown man. After the incident, the suspect was seen heading in the direction of Upper Flexford Nature Reserve.
Detectives have released a CCTV image of the man, admitting the quality is less than ideal, but hope an accompanying description will help jog the public’s memory. The man is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, aged between 40 and 45, of medium build, with a beard. He was wearing a dark hat, a green and brown coat, glasses, and was carrying a parcel at the time.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation. If you recognise him, or have any information about his identity, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 44250386552.
