Need a holiday? Last-Minute Bargains from Southampton Airport: Two deals from EasyJet and KLM
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

If you’re itching for a change of scenery but don’t fancy breaking the bank or the hassle of travelling to Heathrow or gatwick, there’s good news out of Southampton Airport. Two tempting wallet-friendly prices and promising drastically different getaways. Whether you’re after sandy beaches or buzzing city streets, Southampton’s got you covered. KLM and easyJet offer two different options:

Southampton to Alicante, Spain – £225 Return with easyJet

Dreaming of the Spanish sun? easyJet is offering return flights from Southampton to Alicante for just £225 per person. Here’s how it looks:

  • Outbound: Thursday 21 August 2025, 15:50 (arrives 19:10)
  • Return: Thursday 28 August 2025, 13:40 (arrives 15:10)

Where to Stay in Alicante:
The Old Town (El Barrio) is packed with charming boutique hotels and lively tapas bars. Hotel Hospes Amérigo, a former Dominican convent, is a stone’s throw from the beach and boasts a rooftop pool with knockout views. For tighter budgets, Tryp by Wyndham Alicante Gran Sol puts you in the heart of the action.

Things to Do in Alicante:

  • Hit the beach: Playa del Postiguet is right in town and perfect for a lazy afternoon.
  • Stroll the Explanada de España: Alicante’s famous palm-lined promenade is ideal for people-watching (and ice cream).
  • Santa Bárbara Castle: Climb or take the lift up to this hilltop fortress for panoramic views of the city and sea.
  • Old Town Tapas Crawl: El Barrio’s narrow streets are lined with tapas bars—sample local favourites like turrón (nougat) and arroz a banda (seafood rice).

If you’re up for a short hop to Spain, this is as easy as it gets.

Southampton to Amsterdam, Netherlands – £250 Return with KLM

Prefer canals to coastlines? KLM has direct return flights from Southampton to Amsterdam for just £250.

  • Outbound: Monday 25 August 2025
  • Return: Sunday 31 August 2025

Where to Stay in Amsterdam:
For central convenience, The Hoxton, Amsterdam delivers style, comfort, and canal views in the heart of the city. If you’re after something a little different (and a bit more affordable), Generator Amsterdam in the Oosterpark neighbourhood offers funky rooms in a former university building, with easy tram access to the city centre.

Things to Do in Amsterdam:

  • Explore the Canals: Rent a bike or hop on a canal cruise to see the city from its best angle.
  • Van Gogh Museum & Rijksmuseum: Art lovers can’t skip these world-class renowned collections.
  • Jordaan District: Get lost in indie boutiques, cosy cafes, and the famous Monday morning market.
  • Anne Frank House: Book ahead to visit this moving historic site.

Amsterdam is packed with culture, history, and nightlife. A week here is only ever half enough.

The Bottom Line

Both trips are a steal, especially for late August. Whether you’re after sand or city, flights from Southampton next week make it easy. Snap these up before someone else does—and don’t forget your passport.
