Southampton police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man connected to a recent burglary at Figurati, a local restaurant in Ocean Village.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 6, when an intruder forced entry into the establishment around 1 a.m. The perpetrator made off with various electrical equipment and apparently attempted, unsuccessfully, to remove a safe from the premises.
Following extensive investigation, authorities have released surveillance footage showing a person of interest captured in the vicinity at the time of the break-in. While the individual’s face is partially obscured in the available image, investigators believe someone may be able to identify him based on other distinguishing characteristics.
“We’re asking anyone who might recognize this individual or who has information about the incident to come forward,” said a police spokesperson. The department emphasized that all tips will be handled confidentially.
Members of the public with relevant information are urged to contact the Southampton Police Department at 101, citing reference number 44250006261.
The break-in comes amid efforts to maintain security in Ocean Village, a popular waterfront dining and entertainment district. Local business owners have expressed concern about the incident, though police maintain that commercial burglaries in the area remain relatively rare.
Figurati restaurant management declined to comment on the specific value of items taken during the burglary, as the investigation remains active.
