Hampshire Police are urgently appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault that occurred late yesterday evening, Thursday, October 31st. The incident took place on Shorts Road, leaving an 18-year-old man with a stab wound to his abdomen.
Officers responded to reports at approximately 11:23 p.m., discovering the injured man, who was immediately transported to the hospital. He is currently being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A comprehensive investigation is underway, and authorities are keen to hear from anyone who was present in Shorts Road and the surrounding areas between 11 p.m. and midnight. Detective Inspector Emma Barrow, overseeing the case for Eastleigh and Hedge End, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in this matter.
“We believe there were several individuals in the Shorts Road and New Century Park area who may have witnessed the events or the moments leading up to them,” said Detective Inspector Barrow. “We urge those individuals to come forward and assist us in our investigation.”
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was driving through the area and might have dash cam footage. Residents with Ring Doorbell or CCTV cameras are also asked to review their footage for any potential evidence.
Detective Inspector Barrow reassured the community, stating, “I know that news of this incident will be concerning to local residents, but we are conducting thorough enquiries and currently believe this to be an isolated incident. Your assistance is crucial to resolving this matter swiftly.”
