Hampshire Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a serious assault in Southampton during the early hours of Sunday morning, November 10th. Officers are investigating the incident and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
At approximately 1:10 a.m., police received a report of a man found on Hill Lane with severe injuries, believed to have been inflicted by a bladed object. The 18-year-old victim sustained injuries to his back and wrist. Emergency services, including the South Central Ambulance Service, attended the scene, and the man was transported to the hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
In response to the incident, road closures are currently in effect at Hill Lane and Milton Road as investigators conduct thorough enquiries at the scene.
A significant development in the case includes the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from Southampton. He is currently in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
As the investigation progresses, Hampshire Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Hill Lane or Milton Road around 1 a.m. on Sunday and may have witnessed anything unusual or suspicious. Motorists who were in the area and have dash cam footage are particularly encouraged to review their recordings for any relevant evidence.
In addition to canvassing the neighborhood, officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage. Local residents are urged to check their Ring Doorbell and CCTV systems for any footage that might assist the investigation.
